On Saturday morning, around 3 a.m., CCTV footage from Thome White House Apartments in Kasarani captured Nzomo staggering home in the company of a man.

The man, who has since been identified as the house’s owner, appeared to enjoy his girlfriend’s company.

Hours later, a caretaker from an adjacent building reported to Kasarani Stadium Police Station that a woman’s body had been discovered in the compound of his flat.

Initially, it was thought that the half-naked woman, who was only wearing a red t-shirt at the time, had been pushed to her death. There have been several such cases in Kasarani and other neighbourhoods along the Thika Superhighway.

Several Nairobi Area Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau detectives have launched investigations into the case. So far, they have managed to locate the man who had last been seen with the deceased woman.

The man, identified as Gitonga, was taken to a hospital in Kasarani for treatment for stab wounds to the chest and stomach. According to police, the man had eight stab wounds and was unconscious when he arrived at the hospital.
