Russian and Nigerian Foreign Ministers Hold Talks in Moscow
During a meeting on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 in Moscow, the foreign ministers of Nigeria and Russia talked about their country’s future partnership.
Sergey Lavrov, the foreign minister of Russia, informed Yusuf Tuggar, his Nigerian counterpart, that Nigeria is a top partner for Moscow on the continent.
“The partnership will develop further. We believe that we are well-positioned to forge a robust strategic alliance with Russia,” Tuggar remarked.
In addition, Lavrov stated that Moscow would keep helping the Sahara-Sahel countries improve their capacity for armed conflict.
Further, the Russian minister emphasized that to fight the ongoing threats, “Russia will assist countries in the region in increasing the combat capability of their national armed forces, security forces, and law enforcement authorities.”
