President Ramaphosa Promises “Better Life” to South Africans During Manifesto Launch

South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa said on Saturday that if his party, the African National Congress (ANC), wins the election, it will build on the previous three decades’ successes and work to address the country’s challenges of high unemployment, crime, and poverty.
“We cannot take all this progress for granted; we need to do more and better together,” Ramaphosa told the congregation. He also pledged to transform the economy and address the high cost of living.
Ramaphosa also stated that his party’s leadership”has been at the forefront of constructing the new South Africa.”
He went on to say that the country has made progress, “giving rise to an independent judiciary, free media, and free and fair elections.”
Recent polls indicate that the ANC is in danger of losing its parliamentary majority in the May 29 elections.
